Al-Rawad University Concludes Its Participation in the Program for Preparing and Qualifying External Reviewers for Institutional Capacities
On Thursday, July 30, 2026, Al-Rawad University concluded its participation in the activities of the Program for Preparing and Qualifying External Reviewers for the Evaluation of Higher Education Institutions and Programs in the Republic of Yemen. The program was organized by the Accreditation Council for Academic and Quality Assurance of Higher Education and hosted by Al-Jund University for Science and Technology during the period from July 25 to 30, 2026. It was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Amin Numan Al-Qudsi, and under the supervision of the Head of the Accreditation Council for Academic and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, Professor Dr. Sawsan Bakhebeira, with the participation of a select group of academics, experts, and representatives from public and private universities.
Al-Rawad University was represented in the program by Dr. Aida Abdulmalik Al-Shami, Dean of Academic Affairs and Director of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, and Dr. Amr Farhan, Head of the Performance Evaluation and Academic Accreditation Unit. This participation falls within the university's commitment to developing the capacities of its staff in the fields of quality and academic accreditation, and enhancing its readiness to apply the best national practices in institutional and programmatic evaluation.
The program featured a series of scientific lectures and intensive practical applications covering concepts of academic accreditation, external review methodologies, mechanisms for evaluating higher education institutions and programs, analysis of evidence and indicators, and the preparation of review reports in accordance with the national standards issued by the Accreditation Council for Academic and Quality Assurance of Higher Education. This contributes to preparing external reviewers who possess professional competence and the ability to carry out evaluation processes efficiently and objectively.
The program also included practical training aimed at developing participants' skills in applying accreditation standards, analyzing performance indicators, and measuring the extent to which institutions and academic programs meet quality requirements, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the evaluation and accreditation system in Yemeni higher education institutions.
At the conclusion of the program, the Accreditation Council and the host university honored the participants and awarded them participation certificates, in appreciation of their commitment and engagement throughout the program days. They emphasized the importance of continuing professional qualification and development programs to prepare national cadres capable of leading review and evaluation processes according to best practices.
Al-Rawad University affirms that its participation in this program is part of its strategic plan aimed at promoting a culture of quality and institutional excellence, developing the academic accreditation system, and raising the efficiency of academic and administrative performance, in line with the requirements of continuous development in higher education.
The university's Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance is scheduled to transfer the acquired expertise and knowledge to various colleges and academic units by organizing specialized training programs and workshops, developing self-evaluation mechanisms, enhancing the efficiency of quality teams, and reviewing academic programs, study plans, and educational courses to ensure their alignment with academic accreditation standards and labor market requirements.
