Advancing its mission toward academic excellence, the Center for Development and Quality Assurance at Al-Rowad University held its 2nd and 3rd "Productive Workshops" for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

Key Highlights of the Technical Sessions:

Workshop II: Mapping Learning Outcomes:
Under the supervision of Quality Expert Prof. Abdulqawi Noaman, this session focused on integrating National Academic Reference Standards (NARS) and international accreditation benchmarks into the program’s learning outcomes. The session included a benchmarking study comparing the university’s dentistry program with leading global counterparts.

Workshop III: Curriculum Design & Alignment:
The second session was dedicated to drafting the new academic plan. Discussions emphasized the importance of pedagogical sequence and the direct mapping of each course to specific Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs). A strategic balance between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice was established to ensure graduates meet modern professional requirements.

Academic Participation:
The workshops were attended by Dr. Aaida Al-Shami (Dean of Quality Assurance), Dr. Nashwan Al-Afifi (Head of the Dentistry Department), and a group of distinguished faculty members and students.
